‘Gentlemanised’ burgers just not worth it

The chicken chargrilled burger
I’ve been to this Byron’s before, however I did not post a review. Now, after just visiting two days ago, I’ve been disappointed-perhaps even more than I was expecting.

I saw an article on the ‘gentlemanised burger’ recently and that is most definitely the case for these kinds of restaurants. Overpriced £4.50 Krushem-style oreo milkshake that had been grinded far too long-no wonder it took twenty minutes. With the limited menu, there weren’t many choices and I eventually, seeing no other alternative, went with the Chicken burger. The chargrilled chicken was horribly dry and pretty much burnt, and I would have liked more sauce and lettuce. Also the size of this £8.95 burger was about the size of a McChicken from McDonalds-which, even with current inflation rates, is about £4.30 or something-and you got chips with that. Chips here cost £2.95, although I must say they were done pretty well, hot and thin with just enough salt.

Staff were also not very attentive and failed to actually give me a napkin, knife and fork. Also didn’t hand me a menu. Overall, a pretty displeasing visit which left a bitter taste in the mouth afterwards. There are plenty other places you can try in Hammersmith and especially around Lyric Square, the King’s Mall, the Apollo and the Hammersmith Broadway.

  • Phew! Two in one day. Very proud. Would you rather I did a trip review or just a photo collection? Let me know!
